Ernst Röhm (1887-1934)

Ernst Röhm was born in 1887 in Munich. He was a professional officer in World War I, where he was wounded several times and received various decorations. After the war he became Chief of Staff of the Free Corps Epp and an organizer of various illegal defense associations. Soon he became a member of the Nazi party and took part in the coup of 1923. Because of personal differences with Hitler he resigned his office in 1925. In 1928 he went as an instructor with the rank of a Colonel for two years to Bolivia. Later he was recalled by Hitler to reorganize the SA. About a year after the Nazis took over the power he was murdered with other SA leaders.
